Nightmare_Luna 07/27/23 8:43:24 PM #93: | DragonClaw01 posted... Why? Grinding for gear to fight bigger and badder monsters, so you can get even cooler gear has always been part of the series. It is largely the whole point of any ARPG.because the progression in every single mh since 4 has been gutted in exchange for rushing you to the "endgame" to shove whatever the specific game's gimmick is down your throat. this isn't an issue that started in rise. in 4/U, you had monsters locked to guild quests tied with an awful RNG weapon system, along with frenzy and apex being terrible mechanics that the game incentivizes you to nullify with wystones, so what's the point of this mechanic exactly? in gen/U, hyper monsters are how the monsters should have fought to begin with, unfortunately, said hyper monsters are bloated hp sacks that ultimately aren't very rewarding to fight (deviant system was a disaster due to the stupid tickets/level system, even if some of the deviants are amazing fights) base world, pre-dlc, is the easiest monster hunter has ever been, it's easier than rise and i will die on that hill. tempered monsters is just this game's version of hyper/frenzy, and isn't any more rewarding than the last two. world also has a fetish for awful rng weapon farms (kulve taroth) base rise had no content, but then sunbreak took it too far in the other direction with master rank being a piss easy stomp before getting rushed to shitty gimmick mode #5, anomaly hunts the whole fun of monster hunter to me is enjoying the progression, crafting weapons and armors, and in the newer titles (world and rise are both very guilty of this), there's no sense of progression because everything is streamlined to hell and back. in dos, or tri, or hell even 3u if i wanted to upgrade a weapon i had to work for it. i could spend hours upon hours in just 1 rank fighting monsters because the game was fun, there weren't pointless gimmicks, there weren't rng crapfests outside of just getting monster drops. the series has been going steadily downhill since 4 and it's due to the abundance of gimmicks and the gutting of the classic progression as for why i dislike world, it's a good game, great game even, but i think it's the worst monster hunter title released outside of the first 3 (1, g, freedom1). also because fuck tokuda --- How to play Monster Hunter Step 1: Hit the monster. Step 2: Don't get hit. ... Copied to Clipboard! |
