Yep. Every "dungeon" is the same. Walk down a linear path, fight horde, walk, fight horde, cutscene, walk, boss, walk, horde, walk, cutscene, big boss, cutscene. The whole thing takes over an hour and you can just spam the same abilities and combos the whole time with no differing tactics. Otherwise, it is like half blah, blah, blah.

Plus, the game has pretty much zero customization and options other than which abilities you use. And the side quests are waaaaaay too talky.

The whole thing is an interactive movie. People say that about a lot of Sony made games and I think that is ridiculous, but this game truly is.

tbh, it's the first Final Fantasy that I've played for any extended amount of time, so I just assumed that's how the structure of the games in the series were like (outside of the action based combat), lol.

but yea, I don't necessarily mind interactive movies, if I know what I'm getting into, but for an RPG, it's pretty disappointing.
