I can't say bad shit about the government in China, that's not even unique to the country. When you arrive in Thailand they tell you right in the airport that insulting the king or Buddhism is a crime. Everyone just consumes outrage media and assumes entire countries are out to get them the minute they arrive. I'm not saying you should go to Afghanistan or something, but a lot of places in America are exceptionally dangerous and yet Americans act like they're going to be in significant danger going to a tourist area in New Delhi. To be fair I have people from back home in the UK assume really silly things about living here in Vietnam. Ive been asked questions such as: Do you have a fridge over there? Do they have wifi yet?
