Judge: Trump appointee Trevor McFadden, notoriously sympathetic to some of the rioters and has openly questioned why the DoJ is "going after January 6th suspects, but not BLM rioters," even though the DoJ did go after BLM rioters as well.

Basically, the defense attorney showed up late and the judge wanted to know why. The defense attorney said that Jack Smith's team was asking another one of his clients "questions that infringe on executive privilege."

"Talk about obstructions of official proceedings," McFadden said in response. "The government has not acted as I required."
  • Judge McFadden is one who is openly skeptical of charging January 6th defendants with the obstruction of an official proceeding charge, even though they clearly did obstruct an official proceeding.

The judge summoned special counsel prosecutors from the grand jury room to his court room. People are bewildered, and someone was overheard saying they've never seen this happen before.

All this is happening during the verdict hearing for Frederico Klein, someone who was in the lower west terrace tunnel on January 6th. He was a Trump state department appointee.
