I typically strongly dislike fandom rage but that plot synopsis sounds absolutely terrible and quite possibly irresponsible. Literally just child abuse humour from characters that are supposed to be sympathetic and likeable, how did anybody think that was a good idea? Also if Im understanding this right the resolution is not that they realise theyre treating a family member terribly but that they stop believing hes bad luck, implying that they were being rational all along. I like a bit of dark humour but that just sounds deranged.
