They announced a teaser image and then basically all but said that ES6 was their next project after Starfield. There was never any expectation that it was coming soon unless you weren't paying attention. That being said, Bethesda holding two major franchises on hold for a decade+ is utterly insane to me, especially with Microsoft bucks backing them now. They really need a Bethesda Fallout team, a Bethesda Elder Scrolls team, and a Bethesda new IP team all working with the goals of having a new installment in their respective areas out every five-ish years.
