Xbox boss Phil Spencer has said that although there are currently no confirmed platforms for Elder Scrolls 6, the game is still 5+ years away.

The news comes from the FTC vs Microsoft trial (full coverage here), in which Phil Spencer was asked about console exclusivity on Bethesdas games. Speaking on Elder Scrolls 6, Spencer said, With Elder Scrolls VI, its so far outits hard to understand what platforms it will even be at this point. Its the same team thats finishing Starfield, which comes out this September. So were talking about a game thats like five-plus years away.

Spencers comments mean that Elder Scrolls 6 will not release until a least 2028 Which is around the same time the PlayStation 6 (via FTC vs Microsoft hearing) and presumably next-generation Xbox will launch.

Although not confirmed, the confidence in Microsofts statement on the PS6 likely suggests that the next generation Xbox will release in the same year. According to our own report in March 2023, in which information was obtained from vetted and corroborated sources, we also believe that the PS6 will release in 2028.

So if you want to look at the future of console gaming in a different light, Elder Scrolls 6 has likely been confirmed as our first next-generation game.

Elder Scrolls 6 was first announced in June 2018, meaning the game will have been in development for over a decade on release since its initial announcement.
