| colliding 06/17/23 7:00:24 PM #8: | It's a shame because the sets actually are extremely impressive and the casting actually seems pretty good. But of all manga, One Piece seems impossible to do justice to in live action. There's this idea in entertainment that "some people won't watch cartoons/animation, but they will watch live action shows." So I guess they thought that this show might reach this mythical demographic. To me, this feels like an antiquated idea. People are just going to watch the anime. All you're going to do is animate an extremely vocal fan base who takes their hobby very seriously. Tl:dr: I don't know why people keep trying to do live action adaptations of manga/anime. It's never going to work! Animation is a superior medium and there's no stigma attached to "watching cartoons" anymore. --- while you slept, the world changed ... Copied to Clipboard! |
