to me the important part of that is when the game's balance actually is being tested, and that is during fights that can actually beat the player. sure, you can disengage with the system entirely on laugher random encounters, but if you're fighting things that are appropriately (or even too) difficult you're milking as much damage as you can from the combos and probably doing the guard charge-up thing beforehand as well. how does the game expect you to play when you're trying to win? that's what balance actually is, in any game.

If they're not making it explorable, why not making it just simply click on the location like what other games did like Grandia 1&2
