There's a reason why tournament winners and top 8 participants are people who have been playing for a decade. You don't get prodigies out of nowhere that win because the game is that demanding and dependent on experience. If it helps put into perspective, I've been top 10 in my state for melee and I've gotten to max rank in Street Fighter and Soul Calibur. I love all fighting games.
