TC is right to an extent. There's always some degree of sexual tension between a male and female friend, no matter how platonic the friendship might seem.

I remember when during a spring break vacation, I ended up sharing a hotel room with a female friend with a single bed. I honestly thought nothing of it until we were laying on the bed getting ready to sleep and she casually says "since we're in this position, wanna have sex?" Totally floored me since I wasn't expecting it at all. So there's always a chance, when dealing with fella/lady friends.

Are you.. aware that a man and a woman can simply.. not be attracted to each other? Do you think every pair of heterosexual men and women friends are both hot and into each other and are simply pretending not to be?
