Queue doesn't get too many songs nominated, so it was nice to see her again & there was a chance of some non-human bonus points for being sung from the perspective of an alien... but I don't like how high-pitched her voice gets in places and while there are a few twisted lyrics (let's throw away our organs?), they're not exactly appealing enough to help. The name seems too specific for their to be another song with that title, but I also wouldn't expect that song to get a cover (especially not a recent cover) so.... I dunno what's going to happen here. (After): Oh hey, it is that song! Trying to hit me with peak nostalgia, huh? Not a bad plan. It's also a cover of the full version of the song, which I haven't heard as often, so that's neat. Ultimately, I prefer the original--it's probably not a fair comparison as the original has had so many, many years to grow on me--but she does a fine job here. Her voice is cute enough to suit the character & the song and I'm always up for some CCS nostalgia. ====================== - ====================== Usuwa Suu - Memories of You (original: Kawamura Yumi/Meguro Shoji): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GwakHpgElY Estimated Score: 70.00 Why do I know this song? It's something I've heard enough to love, but not familiar enough that I actually know all these lyrics... ah, this is a Persona song, right? This feels very Persona. *checks* Ah yes, Persona 3 ending. I have finished that game a fair number of times, so this would be familiar. I think this is one of the rare occasions where the cover is exactly as good as the original? Her softer voice gives a bit of a new spin to the song, making this something that can actually stand on its own fairly well. And I think this and the original are both very good interpretations of the song.
