It is worth noting that the overwhelming majority of historians who work in the field are literally contractually obligated to say that not only Jesus was real but also their personal savior. Among secular scholars the consensus still favors historicity, but is significantly weaker. It should also be pointed out that even just 30 years ago the consensus among scholars was that Moses was historical, whereas now you have to go to a specifically theistic scholar to find anyone taking that position.
