I feel like there is a huge disconnect between the tales of Jesus, and modern Christianity. Or even medieval. Probably the very first version of the religion was quite different. I think everything got corrupted at the Council of Niacea. Where they hammered out all the rules and solidified the Bible. Those men at that event were driven by politics to make their choices.
