I have extreme driving anxiety and can't afford a car. I have a license though. I'll never be able to afford to live independently, however. I'm not really expecting to find another relationship at this point so it is what it is. It'd be nice though.

I think you ought to try and save up and get some therapy. When you reach a point where you can't seem to dig yourself out of a mental or emotional hole, it's time to get help I think.
I've tried this in the past when I could afford it. The quality of sliding-scale therapy is so bad in my area that it's not worth it. One of my therapists spent sessions shilling a yoga class she taught, and awkwardly shoehorning hip hop reference she didn't think I'd understand.
