Background: Im an engineer but I work in gov. This means that generally everyone is smart and gets things done. But they are paced to be done on the timeline of when things are dueand deadlines can be so far into the future they are virtually non existent. But when things do need to be done (I work in emergency operations) things are done efficiently, quickly and at a high level of quality.

Talked to a meteorologist consultant today who was SUPER enthusiastic. He was asking everyone about every detail of every project and how he could help. People were happy to talk to him and share, but really no one cared lol

good for him for being passionate but i just dont understand what he gets out of it. he told us he was stationed in greenland (or was it iceland?) the last 6 months to track snow melt and all i could think was "wow this guy volunteered to not have sex for HALF a year".
