The video game is secretly set to the highest difficulty for you, while everybody else is playing on normal. Everybody insists the game is set to normal, and you believe them. You see how much easier it is for them and they see how much more you are struggling and the only logical explanation is that you are either just fucking terrible at the game, or just aren't trying hard enough to be as good as them. Now you have an idea of what it's like growing up with an undiagnosed neurodivergance AND a good lead in to why there seems to be heavy overlap between these disorders and various depression / mood disorders. --- "Now, was that civilized?
