Probably something like "The Simpsons showed voting machines changing votes and didn't get in trouble. It's not fair if we do." They do love absurd whataboutism.

Their actual defense in an actual courtroom, in a case worth billions, is literally gonna be "Simpsons Did It, Simpsons Did It", isn't it...?

Fucking hell, this is going to make their "no reasonable person believes us so it's not damaging" argument look like the peak of integrity in comparison.

More or less these, but I suspect the way they will do it in order to sound like it's a professional defense will be to use it to suggest that satire, even satire about how voting machines works is protected speech and that the clip is an example of this in action. "You see, the constitution allows for people to make statements that aren't true in entertainment".

This is of course a lie, but it does tie into a previous case they won that implied they were simply entertainment and not news so they are probably hoping the precedent helps. "It's a joke bro" but all pretty sounding. Not to mention the Simpsons was on "fox" so they can try to convince the jury that "Fox has totally been making election jokes before, why are people upset now? It must be a political hit job" by muddying the waters between "Fox news" and "Fox tv".
