My brother and I each got one for Easter (which was odd because we never got gifts like that for Easter any other year) mine came with Pokemon Red and his came with Pokemon Blue. We even got a link cable. It's absolutely one of my fondest childhood memories and I've played every gen of Pokemon since. Thanks mom and dad.
