Eh. If you wanna get serious and sad. When Covid first started, and before becoming desensitized to it, it was pretty rough being someone with a lung condition and realizing most the world would throw you away so they could continue to get haircuts and go to bars. Knowing everytime they said "It's only harmful to people with pre-existing illnesses and old people" as a justification to not change anything, which was constantly, they were basically saying "Eh, you can die off, your sick ass doesn't actually matter". I wouldn't say I felt hated, but I definitely felt like I didn't matter to the majority of people. And Im sure Im not alone there by any means. I always thought about how sick members of the people's family must of felt hearing people close to them so casually say that

While I don't mean to make light of that (because that's actually a pretty serious matter, too), it's a very different situation aside from people being willfully ignorant. In your case, it was complete and utter indifference to compromised people in pursuit of their own hedonistic habits, and in cases like mine, their actions are absolutely motivated by pure malice. It come down to a "you don't matter" for you, and "you're a freak/monster/whatever and we don't recognize your right to exist" for people like me, even though our existence is of absolutely no consequence to anyone else. They would rather us kill ourselves than just let us live in peace.
