That's just it. An F-Zero movie has so many options, more than possibly any other Nintendo property. Yes, it doesn't have the casual appeal of Mario or Pokemon, but... What does? Something like Metroid has drastically less casual appeal than Sonic, for instance, which means anything Nintendo puts out, at this point, basically has to build off of other properties. It's what makes DK the easiest, even if not the most exciting, because it was already built up in the Mario movie.
