He's a lovable, ignorant oaf. In real life he's a contemptible ignorant oaf for the most part. I was shocked he had a relatively halfway progressive take (for him) in a recent article where he talks about trans issues, though of course there's still some ignorance there. Maybe he's very slowly learning? I'm sure he will make up for it by saying 10 stupid things after it.
