I don't care if Bethesda came back and fixed it; the fact that they actually wrote that scene up, realized and acknowledged that at least 3 companions could easily solve the problem with minimal loss of life and still went out of their way to prevent the player from taking this option is one of the biggest storytelling blunders in any Bethesda game.

And that's saying something.
