The actual groomers are people of positions in power and influence, people that it's uncomfortable or even dangerous to accuse of wrongdoing, people that are above suspicion. It's not drag queens that kids meet once at an event at the library with their parents. It's parents, priests, politicians, and family friends. This is actually true. Like let's say drag queens etc started abusing children right now en masse. It would still be decades until they started racking up numbers like the church. That is just mind blowing and depressing. I think the closest comparison is all the teachers that are molesting kids, specifically young boys. At any rate it does a lot to castrate right wing arguments about "protecting kids".
