I mean 5 yeard ish ago we had google deepmind that made images into some Lovecraftian horror or those "familiar but incomprehensible " pictures spreading online. Like if an immoral authoritarian country utilize this tool for propaganda, and without access to any outside media to cross reference facts, no one will be able to distinguish truth from fiction. Hell it could happen in the US used by media sponsored by irresponsible people and people who already susceptible to fake news will even eat it wholly. Like say, north korea can easily type "people dying by new unknown virus in new york US" in 2035 and show the footage to its citizen.
