I haven't gotten yet. I heard it cut out like half of all the best parts of the game, and I'm talking events and areas not cheese dialog.

Half is a crazy exaggeration. It removed 7% if that and the stuff they removed aren't exactly the highlight real

Being chased by the giant Ramon statue
The boss fight with "IT" (probably the biggest removal)
After cabin there is no longer a choice about which 2 paths to take. There is no El Gigante path (strangely you can still see the arena where you would have fought El Gigante. Reference or Seperate ways DLC? Who knows)
There is no Ashley dump truck section
The Lava Room /Decending ceiling room(s) and The Killdozer

Honestly while I'm not fond of remakes removing stuff, I'm not torn up over any of these. I don't think the remake would be improved if they were inserted.

Most of what was removed was the shitty QTEs (thank christ) and the cheesy dialogue. Which TBH I kinda miss
