I try to vote, raise my children with good values, support my local community through action, and participate in charitable organizations. I dont go online to get in arguments with people who are either in bad faith or wont change their mind. So yeah, I avoid politics.

No one has ever changed someone's political views by arguing about it online. People need to have their own experiences, base their viewpoints on that, and do whatever is in their power to move their city/state/country in the direction you think is best. Even if the only thing you can do is vote for whoever you think is best for the job, that's better than doing nothing.

This is what I personally mean when I say that I try to avoid talking about politics. It's not that I don't have my own views and beliefs, but that I know there's very little the average person can do to change another individual's viewpoint.
