Portugal was never invaded by Britain. In fact, Britain's oldest mutual defense treaty (that is still in effect) is with Portugal.

You can say that Britain attacked Spain during the time when Spain had annexed Portugal. But I wouldn't call that invading Portugal (since it didn't exist at the time).

And the UK did really pressure the Portuguese empire to give up territory in Africa, back when the UK was powerful and Portugal was a fading power. But that's not an invasion, either.

Historically, the Kingdom of Portugal and the Kingdom of England, and later the modern Portuguese Republic and United Kingdom, have never waged war against each other nor have they participated in wars on opposite sides as independent states since the signing of the Treaty of Windsor.
