Theres nothing to downplay. If you try to kill the police or another person and are subsequently killed as a result of that confrontation, then it was your choices that led you there. Not all police killings are justified, and those that arent should be prosecuted, but Im not going to pretend that someone killed while actively trying to kill the police didnt deserve it. Aaron Swan killed a police chief, wounded another cop, and then tried to kill two Pittsburgh Detectives.
