You've never been to Italy or Ireland - shut the fuck up. Italians and Irish get along very well. It's the Catholic upbringing that we can smell on each other. And no, I've never been to Italy, but my Great grandmother came over on the boat and I pleasure to grow up around her. She was very old world and it informed the way I was brought up. Believe me, going to her place was nothing like going to any of my WASP friend's houses. Claiming to be from somewhere that you are not is silly. Knowing and understanding your roots is not.
