You'll never see anyone in this topic say that the US is perfectly safe and there's nothing wrong with it. I don't see what's so hard for you to admit the same about Mexico. You're so accustomed to it that when you read about the national guard patrolling the beaches to protect tourists from violence, or the army having to stand down because the cartels are beating them in gun fights in the street, or that cartels are disappearing school buses full of kids, or that cartels have taken root in your own hometown and you only live there under the illusion of safety because they chose to make it a safe haven that you don't even flinch when you read this news.

But I never argued that there isn't any crime in Mexico, I don't know where you got that from. I was only arguing agaisnt the phrase and notion "Mexico is an unsafe country". Cause that's not true. There's a difference between crime happening in certain places and Mexico being equated to Afghanistan or something.

Regarding me being under an ilusion,I don't understand what you mean. I mean I've been a tourist here. When I go to the beach that's a travel for me and I think I would've noticed if Cancun was a crime infested place in which you have like 50% chance of getting kidnapped or killed, which is how some of you are making it sound like.

As for my hometown, I honestly don't know if some cartel started there, I have never heard of any of that,(your article is from december ) nor of any consequence of it? Again, I lived in Queretaro my whole life. It's a clean, quiet and modern little town, to which many people from CDMX (where I live now for work) move to to raise their kids, cause it's one of the most peaceful and nicest places. So I'm not sure what should be the right response to your article when ultimately I know it's been always safe for living and visiting.
