I still don't see why declining populations are a bad thing. I don't believe the world is overpopulated, but how much of our billions of people are actually doing anything? A decrease doesn't sound too bad.
It will literally cripple developed societies and cause mass suffering.

The problem is that the world is racist as fuck. Poorer countries have high birth rates but developed countries like Japan don't want to bolster their waning population with brown people.
