Even Ewen McGregor said that "acting" with all the green screen and most of the sets not actually existing was a tough experience. Combined with some poor dialog, and it made Hayden look bad. It is hard to act when you are not even interacting with an environment. Yup. And even then, there's times where Hayden clearly looks like he could have been a great young Anakin/Darth Vader. Plenty of times during Revenge of the Sith especially where he's great at conveying raw anger and desperation without even saying anything.
