every time these games come out there is a cavalcade of the same people making the exact same demands (add a pause button! add an easy mode! add a quest tracker!), they huff and stomp for awhile, and then they eventually move on while the people who enjoy souls games continue to enjoy souls games

Call it gatekeeping or toxic or whatever you want, but at this point its honestly gotten really annoying to be in the community that plays these games and listening to the ten thousandth rant about why someone needs stuff out of that same basket of random features people have been moaning about since DS1 got popular. It's beating a dead horse, and you aren't going to change anything with your article or thread or whatever any more than all the people before you have.
