In the Cold Steel games for all the sidequests and journal entries that revolved around random nobodies, I went exactly where I was told to go by the guide, and just smashed the x button without reading the boxes. And if NPCs weren't involved with some type of quest or entry then I just never talked to them period. And I liked doing that!
