With watches for some people brand perception is just super important, and I get that. But with me I also just enjoy really high quality stuff. The brand perception has nothing to do with the actual physical watch itself.

Rolex has insane brand equity, but a Grand Seiko is just a league above them quality-wise. I own Rolex, I like them, but they're mass produced, well finished, robust watches. A Grand Seiko, case, dial, movement (which they display, unlike Rolex), are finished to a degree that you could easily compare to brands like Moser (watches starting at 20k), Breguet, etc. They are phenomenal watches, and if brand perception doesn't bother you, then with a Grand Seiko you're getting an insane watch, well above Rolex, Omega, Breitling, IWC in terms of quality.

how do you feel about the omega/swatch moonswatch?

I bought a couple, then I ended buying a real speedy because of the moonswatch, and not the other way around.

2022 is the last model year, and it was a cheap AWD/ABS/Stabilitrack for $24K that I can fit shit in.

I'll just fucking give it to you right now, but Missouri says I can't sell it for less than $200. The power steering was replaced four years ago, front brakes ten years ago, timing belt last year, front suspension in September, and it's on its fifth alternator.

I also have two Pontiac Fieros rotting in my dad's barn if you want one.

that is my beef with the market. Zx2s? Fieros? They were cool sporty cars when they were brand new. I dont think such a thing exists right now anymore
