resetera banned discussion of the game because they feel that they have an image of moral indignation to hold up as a site that puts identity politics very heavily into their image. i dont think moral indignation is why you cant post porn on gamefaqs

but really, if you think about it for more than a minute, you realize that resetera is allowed to talk about a ton of different problematic things. that is because usually the site can come to consensus in condemning them as bad. its fairly obvious that this is something they could not come to a consensus with, but they don't want the bad publicity of being the big social justice gaming forum that cannot unite on this subject. so they just excluded discussion entirely from the site to avoid conflict
