Basically, the fact it is largely hailed as a good game from a big franchise means any boycotting is not really going to be effective.

That doesn't mean people are wrong to boycott that do, simply that it won't "sink" the proverbial ship. I think most people in this age are sick of franchises they like releasing utter shit, so it made such efforts even less likely to succeed.

I personally don't think we should want to have shit games or franchises destroyed just because an author is a douchebag.
