The DLC paralogues scale to Alear's internal level, so just promoting Alear alone won't actually make them any easier, In fact, I believe it makes them slightly harder because I think the promotion counts as +1 to Alear's internal level. I would hold off on trying the Tiki paralogue again until after you beat chapter 9 (so you'll have more characters and those additional seals/promotions to work with) and I would avoid using Alear as much as possible until then to keep them from leveling up more. After chapter 9 is when I beat the Tiki paralogue myself.

They could also just do a couple skirmishes without Alear to raise a few other levels to make them easier, as well

For me, I did the Tiki paralogue as soon as it opened. The others I did just now either last night or earlier today (only because they are new and I couldnt have done them earlier) That said, Tiki was probably the one I had the hardest time with
