This is true of many grandmas, but she definitely loved her family. I'd have to say she was a true Matriarch.

She definitely cared about us. I had perfect attendance throughout High School but graduated early, so during a ceremony honoring our achievements, I did not get the Perfect Attendance award I worked for. Perhaps minor, but I was always disappointed that I never got that award, as it was not easy at times. While in college, I remember talking to my grandma about that, and she called the school without me knowing, and when I came home one time, I was shocked to see that award sitting there, my name and all on it. This was a few years after I graduated, but it even had the fact it was a 2016 award on it (my HS class).

I know that may seem insignificant, but it meant a lot to me. It was something she did out of the kindness of her heart, and I'll never forget her doing that for me.
