I'm sure I'll buy the next one if the reviews are decent, albeit not on day 1, as the core of the game is good...and I do think they'll try to stay close to the original sequence of events at least up until the City of the Ancients, which is good. Although once we get there it is rather obvious that the most compelling event in the original isn't going to happen (or at least stick), right? And instead of Whisper distractions we'll have alternate universe/future/meta-whatever Zack/Avalanche distractions. And after that who knows, except that I'll bet you a million dollars they go for a super-happy everything-is-fixed ending this time around. :)

MAYBE they'll surprise me, but I don't trust current SE to write anything nearly as interesting as the original...I expect metaphyisical mumbojumbo. When remaking a game that was loved largely for it's storyline it is a rather large error to make me kill the storyline. IMO. But great game other than that! ...no, really!
