Martin Luther King Jr. was campaigning for better pay and unionization as a way to defeat generational poverty and he got shot for it. There's still urban communities that have problems stemming from Redlining that caused poorer education and food deserts. I don't know what redlining is. Doesn't generational poverty exists no matter what color you are? I thought things like affirmative action were meant to counter this, at least if you're a minority.
