Now that I think about it, Engage's translation seems overall sanitized compared to Awakening/Fates/Three Houses. Didn't Treehouse translate Fates and TH? Why the sudden backwards prudishness? :p And why isn't Nintendo hiring the Awakening translators anymore, that was a fun translation lol

My exact thoughts. Treehouse has been iffy since PoR and the "sanitization" is not at all exclusive to FE as Kirby has felt it as well. 8-4 that did SD, Awakening, Echoes, and Three Hopes (and does the Undertale/Deltarune Japanese localization with Toby's high praise) have had some changes too but they've been overall better received and their changes are just less awkward and intrusive.

btw does anyone know if plot relevant character's retreat quotes become death quotes by the end of the game like Three Houses and Echoes? It seems not a lot of people have gotten to endgame.
