Don't pay off your debt if you can invest the inheritance and get a better return than whatever you're paying in interest. If you have to pay off debt, pay off the highest interest stuff first like credit cards. Tbh, I'm not holding THAT much debt (outside of student loans) and my inheritance far exceeds it to the point where even after paying it off, I'd have a healthy chunk of money left to do whatever.
