Ford, GM, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, BMW, VW...all of these companies have already put out EV or its in the pipeline, all have the capital to be successful.
I've been following these pipelines for over 10 years and it isn't even in their plans to be competitive. None have the capital to be successful which is why they haven't been.

The few Evs they have put out are low volume, unprofitable, and only because they were forced to. It wasn't a voluntary step 1 with a path forward, they're stuck at this level. We've seen total recalls with halted production from GM, Ford, and Toyota because they're still struggling to manufacture EVs even at a small scale.

And honestly if you do the math, Hybrid is the way to go. Americans will always do whats cost efficient and buying a cheap Ford or Toyota hybrid is by far the smartest bang for buck.
If you do the math on the margins and how quickly Tesla can and just did cut prices, they could sell a model 3 for cheaper than a Prius anytime they want to. Toyota can't cut prices any further.
