I've heard it for many years because it's intuitive to think so, but it never actually happens because there's no reason it would. They are smaller companies than Tesla, way behind Tesla, have to juggle making gas cars to keep the lights on while they try to start their EV businesses from scratch. All while already up to their eyes in debt and no money to invest seriously in catching up.
