Guess Im still hip with it, because I recognize the vast majority of these artists. Coachella is overly corporate and has never interested me though. Ive only been to three festivals in my life though (at least ones longer than a day; used to go to Live 105s one day festival BFD every year from 2005 - 2008 before I started working at the venue) and they were all in 2016: Sound on Sound in Texas (was the only year they had it and the line up was awesome; theres a new festival in Connecticut with the same name but definitely not the same organizers based on the line up), Psycho Las Vegass inaugural year, and Animal Collectives Camping Weekend. Had a great time at all of them, but personally prefer smaller, more intimate shows. Almost went to a festival here in Japan over the summer, but the line up wasnt quite strong enough to sell me. Though I did end up meeting Carly Rae Jepsens tour photographer in a bar in Tokyo and hung out with him for the night as he taught me about gin (and funnily he knew my sister who lives in the same city as him and does tour photographer for a lot of bands and musicians; shes currently on tour with The 1975). He offered to get me into the festival for free, but never followed through. Still a fun night though.

Cool note about this years Coachella is that my acquaintances (not close enough to actually call them friends) and favorite band from my local punk scene back home are playing this year (Scowl).
