My mother often identifies herself as such in texts and also refers to me by name, which I don't understand.

The funniest thing though is that for years, she sent countless dozens of texts and had who knows how many missed calls to me that I never knew about. She showed up late one time when picking me up for something and was in a panic because I hadn't answered when she called about a change of plans and didn't respond to texts either. As it turns out, the phone number she had entered for me had like half of the digits wrong, so all of those "missed" texts and calls went to some random person who was probably confused as fuck for years... At that point, all of my communication with her about events, visits, meeting times etc. had been made to or from her landline, so the mistake went unnoticed, and without any unplanned stuff happening, she never told me about the missed calls/texts. She just assumed I didn't respond.
