They showed they cared by giving the employees actually impacted by the passing time off from work and resources to manage their grief. These warehouses aren't tiny bodegas with 5 people on staff at a time. They're thousands of square feet with hundreds of people at any given moment. All of those people weren't working with or even near the deceased person. Why would someone separated by thousands of meters of walls, shelves, and other industrial equipment need time off to manage trauma from an event that they didn't even witness and only heard about from a news article?

because they couldve known her? they likely know people that knew her?
and they have to live with the fact that if they die on the clock, theyd just get boxes stacked around them
