We had massive flooding just 3 years ago (winter/spring 2019). We get big rainstorms. Its the steady, all-winter-long drizzle that we lack. One big dump that washes everything downstream isnt especially helpful long term.

And for all the people who keep asking why dont they store all that water? remember that water is the most powerful natural force on the planet. Controlling it is neither simple nor inexpensive. We have an extensive reservoir system, but not in the coastal cities like San Francisco.

Nature is doing what it is designed to do: burn, flood, start over. Humans just get in the way of that natural pattern. We dont like for our homes to burn or slide away.
